Ottawa and Burlington are fourth and fifth on the list, with Quebec’s Boucherville sixth. Oakville, Ontario,
Edmonton, Alberta, Regina, Saskatchewan, and Quebec City round out the top 10. The province of B.C. doesn’t show up until number 14 with Saanich, on Vancouver Island. The Atlantic Provinces are reflected at
the earliest in the 16th spot, with Moncton, New Brunswick.
But the list varies quite a bit when talking about the best places for newcomers. MoneySense has adjusted its overall rankings for new immigrants by looking at immigrant population numbers, average rent and the unemployment rate in the cities. The top 10 cities for new immigrants are:
